Defined Solutions offers our clients a turnkey, discretionary, managed account platform with the option of selecting either tactical or strategic-based strategies. As the investment manager, ProEquities evaluates, monitors, and adjusts the portfolios to meet their investment objectives. Co-managers, Fidelis Capital and F-Squared Investments, provide investment management guidance on each portfolio.
Private Access - Separately Managed Accounts
When SMA platforms were initially launched in the late 70s, they were designed to have high-quality performance, manager accessibility, client customization and transparency. But as the popularity of the programs grew, Broker/Dealers were blinded by the economics of the platform, and soon the advantages of their separately-managed account platforms vanished. What was once a platform of great managers was now a smorgasbord of any and every manager that the Broker/Dealer could sign up for participation. In 2009, ProEquities decided that it was time to turn back the clock and bring the original qualities of the SMAs to our advisors and their clients.
Direct Investment Programs
Direct Investments programs invest in tangible assets such as real estate, equipment leasing, or energy exploration and development. Traditionally these types of investments are long-term with a focus on current income and potential growth, but certain tax benefits may also arise. Direct investments are not traded on an exchange like stocks and bonds; therefore, they typically have less daily volatility. This feature along with asset allocation, diversification, and owning a piece of a tangible asset make direct investments a good investment option for some clients, although the higher risk nature of these investments should always be considered.
Fixed Income Products
Fixed Income products are often also called bonds. Offered through Protective Securities, a division of ProEquities, bonds are interest-bearing securities that obligate an issuer to pay the bondholder a specified fixed sum of money usually at specific intervals. The issuer also repays the principal amount of the loan at maturity. There are many types of bonds to be considered depending on your circumstances and objectives.
